Fly Fishing

The Methow Valley is home to one of the Pacific Northwest’s most abundantly stocked fly fishing sanctuaries. Located below Sun Mountain Lodge, the Methow River flows from the Eastern Slopes of the Cascade Mountains through the foothills of the Methow Valley, presenting gorgeous scenery and unrivaled fly fishing for Cutthroat Trout, Rainbow Trout and Steelhead.

Whatever your fly fishing pleasure, you’ll find it at Sun Mountain Lodge. North Cascades Fly Fishing, based at Sun Mountain Lodge, has expert guides and a 14-foot inflatable, self-bailing raft with a top of the line fishing frame for floating the Methow River. Both cushioned seats swivel, allowing a cast to every riffle, rock and shoreline in a relaxed fashion. A stable casting platform and thigh bar provide the opportunity for fast action angling.

They also offer their expertise for Moccasin Lake, a 30 acre private lake located just minutes from Sun Mountain Lodge. Only six rods at a time are allowed and the lake is surrounded by rangeland and mountains – a very private and pristine retreat. Average fish size exceeds 3.5 lbs., with some takes in excess of 10 lbs.!Also located at Sun Mountain Lodge is a fully-stocked fly fishing shop. The Sun Mountain Lodge Fly Shop carries top name brands including Sage rods, Simms waders and wading boots, Rio lines, Ross reels, and all the accessories. Plus, over 100 different types of flies. The Fly Shop is open 7 days a week for your convenience.
