The perfect candidates are those with a current cosmetology license and certification looking for additional hours of employment while attending school or working in another capacity. Candidates will demonstrate pride and passion for their art, and will ensure that our guests enjoy a relaxing and memorable experience in our Spa and Salon. Wage is plus commission.
Chefs Apprentice

Sun Mountain Lodge is now taking applications for our culinary education program, a Washington Department of Labor and Industry and American Culinary Federation sanctioned program.
This apprenticeship program offers:
- A 3 year work-as-you-learn opportunity
- The chance to earn your “Certified Culinarian” Certification (CC)
- Certified recognition by WA dept of Labor, US Dept of Labor and the American Culinary Federation
- Receive mentoring from an ACF-certified executive chef (CEC)
- Participate in an “earn while you learn” approach
- Develop real-world skills based on job experience
- Pursue career paths that provide long-term financial security
- Develop documented culinary skills that are transferable
- Housing available
Interested students should:
- Have a passion for food and cooking
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Be at least 17 years of age
- Be willing to spend 3 years working and training rigorously
- Be willing to spend time on class room and computer studies
- Spend time on field trips, food shows and competitions
- Be willing to live in a rural area
- Enjoy working in a AAA 4-Diamond resort and restaurant
- Some experience preferred

Applicants should:
- Fill out an application (available on line to print, complete, and mail)
- Write a 300 word essay on why they want to be a chef
- Include a copy of your high school diploma or equivalent
- Send the application, essay, a resume and a $20 non refundable application fee to;
- Cost for materials totals $5,000 over the three-year program. Some scholarship money may be available.
