Do everything or nothing at all.  It’s your vacation.  The question isn’t what to do.  The question is,  where do you start?  From sunrise to sunset, throughout the seasons, there is an invigorating adventure or relaxing activity waiting for you at every turn.

“Sun Mountain has given all of us some of our best family memories.  We never tire of the hikes, views, flowers and birds. We have had many international adventures, but in our hearts Sun Mountain Lodge remains the best situated and most peaceful lodge.”
Gwen & Phil P., Tacoma, WA – May 2012

Outdoor Family Activities

Explore the great outdoors through a guided nature hike, learn about the flora and fauna on the Interpretive Trail, or take part in the Beaver Pond Scavenger Hunt for a chance to see the beavers working on their dam. Kids will enjoy scrambling on the outdoor jungle gym, swimming or boating in Patterson Lake, horseback riding, or mountain bike riding.

Indoor Family Activities

Indoor fun can be found in our game room featuring ping pong, foosball, and pool tables.

Around Town

The Methow Valley is home to a vibrant community of artisans and craftspeople whose wares can be found in the many shops and galleries lining the town boardwalks.  Explore the historic theme town of Winthrop and learn how the lure of gold brought the first white settlers to the region.  Savor the locally grown produce, artisan cheese, baked goods and crafts available spring through fall at the Twisp Farmer’s Market, or mingle with the locals and enjoy a perfectly brewed espresso or award-winning pint at one of the local establishments.  Of course, our most treasured attraction remains the nearly limitless wildlife, recreational activities and unrivaled beauty that defines this magnificent region.
