Located on the eastern, and sunny side of the North Cascades – on the edge of the Chelan Sawtooth Wilderness, above the Methow River Valley – these courses offer great mountain trail running early in the year. You can expect fields of wildflowers, beautiful, snow-capped peaks of the Cascades in the distance, and mostly gradual, smooth, runnable trails.

As you may have heard a good portion of the forest and trail system at Sun Mountain was burned by the Cedar Creek Fire this past summer. Various trails we usually use for the race may be unavailable at the time of the races. But not all trails were burned and not all trails are closed or severely affected. We are certain we will still be able to provide a fun, scenic and challenging courses for folks to run.

We’ll be back to starting and finishing the race on the lakeside lawn at Patterson Lake Cabins. This has got to be one of the best start/finish locations in the entire sport!
