Just had our wedding there. The staff went out of their way to make our guest and us feel very special! Highly recommend this location. We selected a destination wedding from Seattle and Winthrop was the perfect place. We had a vision for a snowy winter wonderland and that’s exactly what we got! From start to finish working with Mary and team at Sun Mountain Lodge was so easy and stress-free. They arranged an in-person visit and we spent the weekend exploring the venue and the town. From there we had many phone calls and emails but always very responsive whenever I had a question. Mary helped me brainstorm and bounce ideas to create the perfect day. Upon arriving we were able to get into our spaces early, set up without any stress. The venue was perfect, as were the staff and they took care of all the cleanup. I would highly recommend Sun Mountain Lodge if you are looking for a romantic, rustic, mountain wedding!
We just completed celebrating my daughters wedding. Just over a hundred guests. The facility is excellent. More importantly, the staff is excellent. Every person we interacted with was polite, they were skilled at their jobs, and they worked as a team. This resort deserves a full “Ten” customer rating. They have an excellent restaurant. The horse drawn chuck wagon dinner in the woods is excellent. Their hikes vary from easy and short to long with variety and great views. Our room was comfortable. Everything in the room worked. The water was quite good. Their wedding coordinator is really good at her job. The resort has earned all five stars.
We so enjoyed our wedding weekend at Sun Mountain Lodge! The accommodations were absolutely wonderful! All the rooms were comfortable, quiet and restful retreats. The lodge was beautiful, and the backdrop of the mountains was the only décor we needed for our daughter’s wedding outside on the bluff. The breathtaking pictures will forever remind us of the perfect day.
We were very happy with your service. When we arrived a bit late the first evening, the pleasant man that checked us in kindly opened the gift the shop so that my husband could get some snacks for his sugar low.
Then there was the lovely, amazing Mary the wedding planner. From our first meeting to the day of the wedding she was so gracious, friendly and helpful. She somehow managed to hover and be available yet stay in the background. She was the calming presence, always at the right place at the right time, directing us where and when to go. Everything Mary had helped us choose was just as she said it would be, and even better. Like the boughs, giant pinecones and candles on the table in the wine cellar… the perfect touch of rustic glamour we had anticipated. The bride could not have been happier with how it all turned out! Mary made everything practically perfect in every way!
The rest of the staff and services were also kind and helpful, from the salon to the babysitting to the waitress in the wine cellar who did a magnificent job serving us. The dinner menu had such a nice variety and the food was delicious! All you offered made the wedding day run more smoothly than we imagined!
In all it was a fabulous experience and I would highly recommend your lodge to anyone!
We were so happy with EVERYTHING at Sun Mountain Lodge. The staff was amazing, taking care of any questions, needs, or issues that came up – including towing a car up to the lodge to ensure our friends made it to the ceremony! Mary was the best coordinator we could have asked for. Our photographer said we would never find someone as good as she was. We expected to have to ask our friends to do little things like move flowers from the ceremony to the reception, but the staff took care of it all! They set everything up perfectly too, it was absolutely gorgeous. We also had our Rehearsal Dinner at the Old Homestead, which was a ton of fun. Finally, we had a Seahawks brunch the next morning, and the staff had turned the room over so quickly and beautifully…we were in awe!
You made our wedding dreams come true! Thank you for all that you have done for us. It was the most wonderful and beautiful day of our lives. We want to wish you the greatest of holidays!

I don’t know where to start!! We were here for a wedding and I cannot think of anything they could have done to make it better! The only word we heard was “yes” to whatever we needed!! From the front desk to the wedding planner, banquet staff and concierge, everything was perfect!! The staff in the bar and restaurant was wonderful, even when we kept adding people and changing tables. They even remembered what we drank previously!! If you need a refrigerator in your room, ask for one. If you want to relax, this is a great place with beautiful hiking trails, a pool, game room, a lake close by, with cabins. AND, A FABULOUS PLACE FOR A WEDDING!!! Thank you all for making everything perfect!!!
We had a wonderful time attending a wedding at Sun Mountain Lodge. The backdrop is absolutely exquisite, and it was the perfect place to get to celebrate. All the staff were helpful and the event ran incredibly smoothly. I’m glad to have gotten to see this beautiful venue!
